I remember reading somewhere that everything we got/aquired we were able to keep and use after the pre release. This includes skills, heros, weapons, etc. But that doesn't seem to be the case. All the new skills I bought are locked, and the heros and greyed out. Any information as for why? Or was I misinformed?

it meant that the ones you unlock in preview u can use when gwen comes out, you dont have to start again

You keep them, but they are locked until GW:EN is fully released and you have putted access code to Guild Wars from inside GW:EN box.

Far as I know when you get GW:EN then you will see the heros and such again

Well, I guess it wasn't misleading, but I know I wasn't the only one to misunderstand. All the advertising about being able to keep everything you got gave me the impression that it would still be there when it was over. I get to keep it, so where is it now?? Oh well, I plan to buy it anyway. Just have to wait another week to use those skills again =(

we keep everything once the game goes live.

this is different than previous sneak peak events which were completely separate and anything done in them didn't carry over.

you do have all items you received during SneakPeak

but Skills and Heroes are locked for 5 days (until 08/31)

Keep and use are two different things.

Do you think they would want to let us fill up with a bunch of heroes and skills to use and never buy their game?

Although it does sound misleading, that is exactly what happened with all the NF/Factions preview events (you could buy skills and unlock them, but they would then be locked again until you buy the game again).

It makes PERFECT sense. They can't let people who don't buy the full copy of GW:EN have access to GW:EN skills and heros.

ANet wouldn't make any money if you kept everything you earned or bought during the preview. They want you to buy the games after all. *lol* This weekend was a free sample and you either have to buy GWEN or live without the skills you bought and the titles you grinded to get.

By keep everything you aquired ANet meant that you keep all the items like weapons, consumables, and armor you get, regardless of whether you buy GWEN or not, and you keep your skills, map, and titles if you buy GWEN. Skills, maps, and titles are usually tied to a specific campaign and so you have to have that campaign to take advantage of those things. Its perfectly logical when you think about it.

Yeah, I was (for some reason) actually expecting the items to disappear and then reappear on Friday. I could still equip the brass knuckles this morning. Good stuff.

In the past, all items and experienced gained during a preview weekend is automatically wiped at the end, completely.

This is the first time the items are kept (albeit on-hold for a 5 days).

The items aren't on hold... I can still equip and unequip my Crown, Brass Knuckles, etc. You probably mean the skills.

Skills and heroes are the only thing on hold. Pets and Items are still useable.

Your Nightfall heroes can use the GW:EN skills you unlocked during the preview event right now. My archer heroes are enjoying a nice rework of their skill bars as we speak

I've pre-ordered GW:EN via the online store, which could explain why this is so.

If you didn't purchase the game, you won't be allowed to use anything skill/hero related until you do buy the full version.

I LOL at the people who equipped their heroes with uber weapons then got them locked up at midnight and now arent buying the expansion...
